Regarding conservation, the area of protected areas increases to 19.9%, with the addition of exceptional forest ecosystems and increased recognition of the role of partner organizations such as Appalachian Corridor, CNC, and ACMÉ. Biodiversity is highlighted, particularly by the presence of endangered species such as the wood turtle and the purple salamander, and the maintenance of ecosystems is emphasized.
Regarding mountain real estate development, it remains subject to the lifting of the moratorium and the funding and implementation of appropriate infrastructure. However, once the moratorium is lifted, any new residential project will need to integrate measures for the protection of natural environments and landscapes, as well as an assessment of traffic impacts.
