The candidates for mayor and the sixth town councilor were announced by the town clerk Anne Pouleur at 4:30 PM Friday 29 April 2016. Former councilor and former acting mayor Jean Levesque was the only candidate for mayor and is elected by acclamation. According to town clerk Anne Pouleur, Mr. Levesque will assume his duties Tuesday 3 May, 2016.
The town council seat left vacant by Mr. Levesque will be contested by three candidates:
- Lucie Dagenais
- Jean-Marie Laplace
- Jean-Louis Roy
