La cause de l’incendie qui s’est déclaré lundi dans les sentiers du Mont Écho à Sutton est humaine, a confirmé la SOPFEU. Une superficie de 0,9 hectare de forêt a été touchée ... Une quinzaine de pompiers de la SOPFEU, de Sutton et de Potton sont toujours à pied d'œuvre pour tenter d’éteindre le brasier ... La Sûreté du Québec (SQ) enquête toujours sur les causes et les circonstances de l’incident, alors que la SOPFEU confirme pour sa part que l’origine humaine de l’incendie ... Les sentiers du mont Écho demeurent fermés.

La SOPFEU a repris ses opérations mardi matin afin de tenter d’éteindre totalement un feu maintenant contrôlé qui s’est déclaré sur le Mont Écho, à Sutton, lundi ... The fire started on Sunday and quickly spread across an area about the size of two football fields, roughly 220 by 150 yards. It broke out in the upper part of the mountain, around seven kilometers from the nearest homes, and stayed confined to the forest ... Five provincial wildfire specialists with experience in Alberta and British Columbia joined local crews from Sutton, Potton, Brome Lake, and Cowansville. “They go all over the world to fight forest fires,” the mayor said. “We’re very glad that these people are working with us.”
